Core Solutions Announces Air & Marine ACI Services

Core Solutions takes the lead in becoming the only service provider in Asia to offer both ACI and AMS services for air and marine modes.

HONG KONG - August 12, 2005 - Core Solutions today announced the addition of air and marine mode Advance Commercial Information (ACI) service to Core Customs Services, complementing the company's existing Automated Manifest System (AMS) service certified by US Customs and Border Protection.

Effective 5 December 2005, Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) will require the transmission of cargo and conveyance data within designated advance timeframes for all air mode shipments destined for Canada and will remove the ACI exemption for marine shipments loaded in the U.S.

Since the 9/11 attacks, Core Solutions has led the international arena in developing customs compliance solutions. Core Customs Services, already certified by CBSA for marine mode, expects to receive certification for air mode this November, when CBSA starts its certification process.

Core Solutions is positioned to support both carriers and NVOCCs in the long run, saving them time, money and unnecessary headaches. Today, Core Solutions is the only service provider in Asia that offers both ACI and AMS services for air and marine modes. Core Solutions is committed to extend Core Customs Services to support other major customs agencies, such as for the European Union and Australia. "Surprisingly, it isn't just the small and medium-sized carriers that are calling Core Solutions for help. Quite a number of the major carriers have approached Core Solutions about ACI," said Michael Hung, Core Solutions' CEO. "Carriers are finding it difficult to justify the long term costs to develop and maintain in-house systems to comply with AMS, ACI and similar mandates from a growing number of customs agencies."

Core Customs Services is designed for both high and low volume users. Lower volume users can enter cargo data directly into Core Customs Services' application through a standard web browser. High volume users with existing cargo data from their internal systems can leverage on Core Solutions' advanced messaging gateway to reliably deliver data to ACI and AMS systems. A powerful data inheritance feature is also provided to enable carriers to upload their existing cargo data to Core Solutions' applications. This eliminates all data re-entry, while satisfying the carriers' operational needs to preview and amend the cargo data (which is often necessary) before final submission.
